Antigua Day 8 - Final Full Day in Antigua

I'll tell you a tale of the bottomless blue
And it's hey to the starboard, heave-ho
– Fathoms Below (The Little Mermaid)

Today was our last full day on the island.  We started the day with a ride on a Calypso Cat which we boarded right from the resort (The Verandah).  You may not know this about me, but I can look at moving bodies of water, especially the ocean, for hours and be totally content.  This catamaran would take us to a few snorkeling spots and provide snacks, a light lunch, and beverages.  I’m not a huge fan of snorkeling, so I stayed on the boat the entire time, but I still very much enjoyed myself.  It was relaxing.  Some people in my group were big snorkeling fans and did see colorful fish and some turtles!

Since we were right by a pool when we got off the catamaran, we decided to stop there to try out another pool.  We all loved that there were shady corners of the pool after being in the sun so much that day.

After the pool, we opted to grab some pizza from Papa Ricco’s Pizzeria right at the resort.  I don’t eat cheese, so I don’t often eat pizza, but since they make everything to order, they were able to make me a cheese-less pizza.  I also must point out the innovation they used for some of the tables.  It is mostly bartop style seating so you can dine and look out at the ocean, but the top row of seats has a portion in front of the chair that fits the shape of the pizza, so it doesn’t fall off the edge of the bar top!  So smart!

I went back to my room after pizza so I could get a head start on packing and shower before our final dinner of the trip.  We were treated to Nicole’s which is a restaurant NOT included in the all-inclusive, it is an extra fee, but after dining there, I highly recommend it to anyone staying at The Verandah.  It was my favorite meal of the entire trip.  It is a steakhouse, so the menu is exactly what you’d expect.  All the flavors were so good on everything, including the lime sorbet I got for dessert!

It should be no surprise that we ended our final night at the Wavy Wicket after spending some time at the poolside party with live music!  I couldn’t have asked for a more fun ending to the trip.
