Mexico Day 5
“Just know you're not alone / 'Cause I'm gonna make this place your home.” – Home (Phillip Phillips)
Today was the day I had been dreading—time to head home.
We started the morning with one last breakfast at the buffet, then met up with the rest of our group who were scheduled to leave for the airport a bit earlier than us. After saying our goodbyes, we headed back to our room to pack up and get everything in order.
Once we were ready, we spent some time relaxing in the lobby with our co-worker Tracie, who (once again) happened to be on the same return flight as us.
The airport experience was mostly smooth, aside from a bit of a wait at the Southwest bag drop. Once we got through that, everything moved quickly. Our flight wasn’t full, so Drew and I lucked out with an empty middle seat between us. Tracie, somehow, managed to score an entire row to herself again. If you fly Southwest regularly, you know just how rare and exciting that is.
We landed back in Orlando and breezed through customs. I headed home to be reunited with my animals, Drew made his way to Coronado Springs to meet up with another co-agent, and Tracie continued on her journey home.
Another trip wrapped, another amazing set of memories made and ones that would impact the rest of my year.
