Saludos Amigos Disneybounds
“Saludos Amigos, a fond greeting to you” –Saludos Amigos (Saludos Amigos)
What is Disneybounding? If you're new to the term, Disneybounding is the act of dressing in outfits inspired by Disney characters without wearing a costume. Think regular clothes styled in a way that hints at the character through color, silhouette, or accessories.
For this series, I've added my own twist: I'm only using items I already have in my closet. No new purchases allowed! When I used to Disneybound more often, I spent so much money trying to find the perfect accessories that I rarely wore again. This time, I'm embracing creativity and shopping my own closet.
As a bonus, since I have a clothing boutique, about 97% of the items I own are from there. That means I can link you directly to many of the pieces in case you want to recreate the look. If any of the links don't work, feel free to reach out to me via email or social media so I can fix them!
Pedro
I wasn't quite sure what I was going to come up with for a Disneybound inspired by an airplane, but I'm pretty pleased with the result!
Pedro definitely presented a different challenge than bounding as a traditional Disney character. Instead of trying to recreate an outfit, I focused on pulling together pieces from my closet that captured his colors and then used the accessories to make the airplane inspiration a little more obvious.
I finished the look with airplane earrings and a themed headband, which helped bring everything together. Considering I started this one wondering how exactly I was going to Disneybound as a plane, I think it worked out pretty well!

Goofy
I chose Goofy for my second Disneybound because there aren't a ton of characters in Saludos Amigos who don't also appear in the next movie in Disney's chronological lineup. Since Goofy appears in a very different look than the outfit we usually associate with him, I thought he would be a fun choice.
I did struggle a little to find pieces in my closet that captured exactly what I was going for. Instead of trying to perfectly recreate his outfit, I focused on pulling together the colors of his Saludos Amigos look to create a much more subtle Disneybound.
I also added horseshoe earrings as a little nod to the gaucho theme. It's one of those accessories that might not immediately scream Goofy on its own, but when paired with the rest of the outfit, it helps tie the inspiration together.
