Bambi Movie Night Beverages

“Drip, drop drop little April shower beating a tune as you fall all around” – Little April Shower (Bambi)

It’s time to reveal what cocktails and mocktail I created to pair with Bambi. For those who are new here, I create food and drinks inspired by Disney animated movies, going through them in chronological order.

Forest Bloom

I decided to experiment with butterfly pea tea for the first time with this drink. I had heard it was colorful, and it did not disappoint. The tea starts as a vibrant blue and changes color depending on what you add. In this case, it turned a deep purple when I added lime juice. Visually, it felt like spring in a glass.

Recipe

  • 2 oz tequila

  • 1 oz triple sec

  • 1 oz lime juice

  • 1 oz butterfly pea tea

Fill a glass with ice.
In a cocktail shaker, add ice and all liquid ingredients.
Shake and pour over the prepared glass.

April Shower

I used butterfly pea tea again here because the look and feel of it really reminded me of the forest setting in Bambi. I used Mango Passionfruit Bubly sparkling water because it was what I had on hand, but it did make the drink sweeter than I normally prefer. You can easily swap it for a more neutral sparkling water.

Recipe

  • 1 tsp honey

  • 1 oz lemon juice

  • Butterfly pea tea

  • Sparkling water

Fill a glass two-thirds full with ice.
In a separate dish, mix honey and lemon juice, then pour it into the glass.
Add butterfly pea tea, leaving space at the top.
Top with sparkling water and enjoy.

Twitterpatted

The moment I saw Bambi on the list, I knew I had to make a drink called “Twitterpatted.” It’s such an iconic part of the movie, and I wanted the drink to have a soft pink hue to reflect both love and the season of spring.

Recipe

  • ¾ oz lime vodka

  • ¾ oz elderflower liqueur

  • ½ oz lime juice

  • ½ oz grapefruit juice

Add ice to a cocktail shaker.
Pour in all liquid ingredients.
Shake and strain into a shot glass.
