Dumbo Inspired Travel

“Casey Junior's comin' down the track

Comin' down the track” - Casey Junior (Dumbo)

I thought it would be fun to do a series of blogs that explore where a fan of a certain movie may want to travel.  This could get challenging for me as the movies go on, so be sure to come back each time I switch movies to see what I come up with!

1. Circus World Museum – Baraboo, Wisconsin

Why it fits: Set in the former winter headquarters of the Ringling Brothers Circus, this museum shares the history of traveling shows with old wagons, posters, costumes, and stories that feel straight out of Dumbo’s world.
What to do: Walk through vintage circus trains, see live shows in the summer, and learn how the circus once traveled across the country. While you're nearby, you can explore the attractions in Wisconsin Dells or spend time hiking and relaxing at Devil’s Lake State Park.

2. Elephant Nature Park – Chiang Mai, Thailand

Why it fits: Dumbo’s story is about courage and setting animals free from exploitation. This sanctuary follows those same ideas by giving rescued elephants a safe and peaceful home.
What to do: Help feed the elephants, learn about their stories, and support care efforts that don’t involve riding or shows. You can also spend time in Chiang Mai exploring local markets, temples, and the nearby mountains.

3. Tivoli Gardens – Copenhagen, Denmark

Why it fits: With its gentle charm and old-style rides, Tivoli feels like a place where Dumbo could fly through the sky.
What to do: Ride the carousel, visit the gardens, and enjoy live music or light shows. While you’re in Copenhagen, you can also explore the harbor, take a boat ride, or visit local castles and cafes.
