Epic Universe Day 3

"Tastes like strawberries on a summer evenin’

And it sounds just like a song.” — Watermelon Sugar (Harry Styles)

The day started with breakfast at Omega Cafe and Market again. I already knew what I was going to order because it had been what I wanted the day before, but I didn’t think it would fill me up enough for walking around a theme park. This time, I went for the Stuffed French Toast. I hate making French toast at home, so I always get excited when I find it on a menu. It was not my favorite French Toast I’d ever had, but I was thrilled to have it anyway.

After breakfast, I checked in with my day job. I had taken the day off before and had basically sprinted out of the office the day we checked in because I was so excited. I caught up on a few things and then headed out to hang by the pool with my co-agent, Drew.

Even though it was already Day 3, I hadn’t actually explored the pool area yet because we had been nonstop on the go since I arrived. It was beautiful out there. The pool was peaceful, the surroundings were relaxing, and the overall aesthetic of the resort really worked for me. Of course, this is still a newer resort and Epic Universe was only in preview mode during our visit, so I imagine it’ll get busier in the future, but for now it felt like a hidden gem.

Out by the pool, there’s also the Moonrise Grill, which is super convenient if you want to grab a bite without going back inside to the cold air conditioning.

But the true highlight for me was discovering a Kiwi Margarita on the menu. I love margaritas, but I especially love tropical fruit versions. Passion fruit margaritas are basically the key to my heart, and kiwi was totally new to me. It had a light and refreshing flavor, and I’ve seriously considered going back to that pool bar just for that drink on one of Florida’s hotter days.

Drew and I hung out and chatted while he waited for his Uber to the airport. When it was time for him to head out, I got in my car and drove home. Thankfully, I only live about 30 to 45 minutes away depending on traffic, so it was an easy end to a fun and full few days.
