Dumbo Movie Night

Dumbo is Disney’s 4th animated film which was released in 1941. This movie was a favorite of mine as a child. I haven’t watched it in quite some time, and I have to say as you read my reactions below, you can watch me go through varying emotions while watching including anger!
I thought it would be fun to mimic “Live Tweeting” as a blog post while watching the movies, so enjoy my thoughts below.
10:09 AM: Disney really liked using red, blue, and yellow as their main colors for these last 4 movies.
10:11 AM: “Look Out for Mr. Stork” immediately gives me flashbacks of many repeat watchings of Disney Singalong Videos.
10:13 AM: I’ve been to one circus in my life, but I’m pretty sure hippos and kangaroos at the zoo are unusual. Right?
10:14 AM: I didn’t realize how much Dumbo I had in my childhood! “Casey Junior” music starting gives me immediate flashbacks.
10:15 AM: The stork sounding like Winnie the Pooh is cracking me up (even though Sterling Holloway hadn’t been given that role yet!)
10:18 AM: Baby Dumbo is one of the cutest things ever. I want to snuggle him!
10:20 AM: These 4 women elephants are the original Mean Girls! Who calls a baby names??
10:25 AM: I don’t get how the crowd laughs at Dumbo, he’s SO cute! He just needs to grow into his ears.
10:28 AM: Why on earth do these children think it’s OK to pull on a wild animal’s body parts?!
10:38 AM: Who truly thought elephants climbing each other would be a good and safe idea?
10:43 AM: Really? Mean girls are blaming a baby for a human’s terrible idea?
10:47 AM: This is so sad. Why would they take a baby away from a mom when the mom’s meltdown was because she was protecting her baby?
10:55 AM: These pink elephants are terrifying. Nightmare fuel.
10:58 AM: I’m loving the colors in this scene.
11:03 AM: “When I See an Elephant Fly” is a great song, honestly.
11:06 AM: Everyone deserves a Timothy Mouse to defend them.
11:11 AM: Why didn’t Disney ever make a Dumbo airplane like they show in the newspapers at the end of this movie?
