Jamaica Day 4

Today was our day off from touring, and we had both a group excursion and some poolside fun planned. Emily and I decided to give Le Gourmand, the French restaurant, another shot since our first attempt the day before didn’t quite work out. This time, we actually got to enjoy our food, but it took a long time to come out. Normally that wouldn’t bother me on vacation, but since we had to be at the dock at a specific time, we were watching the clock a bit.

Our group excursion was a snorkeling catamaran tour. I’m not really one for snorkeling, but I love being out on the water, so I stayed dry and still had a great time soaking in the ocean views and island breeze.

After the catamaran, most of us headed to the pool. I’m a big fan of a swim-up bar, so this part of the day was especially fun. I reapplied sunscreen diligently, but somehow still managed to get a pretty intense sunburn. At the time, I didn’t realize just how bad it was, but spoiler alert: I’d be peeling for the next four weeks.

That night’s resort theme was “White Night,” and we all gathered for one last event out on the lawn in our white outfits. Sandals hosted a beautiful catered dinner buffet, and I was especially excited because it was the first time all week that rice was on the menu. As a big rice fan, that little detail absolutely made my day.

After a quick change of shoes and some light packing, we finished our evening at the Polo Lounge Bar. It was our last night together, so we spent time chatting, laughing, and saying our goodbyes. Knowing I’d see some of my co-workers again very soon made the farewell a little easier.
