Jamaica Day 3
“I'm walking on sunshine, whoa, and don't it feel good...” — Walking on Sunshine (Katrina and the Waves)
Today started off with a bit of a breakfast misadventure. I met up with my friend Emily at Le Gourmand, the French restaurant, but I don’t think they’re quite used to guests on a schedule. We ended up having to leave before we were even served, rushing across the hall to the buffet to grab a quick bite before catching our shuttle for another round of resort tours. Of course, the moment we sat down at the buffet, our food from Le Gourmand showed up. But with no time to spare, we had to leave it behind and head out.
Our first stop of the day was Beaches Ocho Rios. For those who don’t know, Beaches is the family-friendly sister brand of the adults-only Sandals. Unfortunately, it started pouring shortly after we arrived, cutting our tour short since the pool and beach areas were slippery. We later found out that this particular resort would be closing in May. That said, there are still two other Beaches resorts open and even more coming in the future.
We were treated to lunch and a fun surprise, special guests from Sesame Street. Families staying at Beaches can enjoy fun experiences with their favorite characters, and it’s such a cool feature for kids.
Next up was Sandals Dunn’s River and wow, this one blew me away. It’s the newest Sandals property and honestly, it’s exactly what comes to mind when I think of the brand. This one is officially on my personal bucket list. It was still raining during our visit, so we didn’t get to explore much of the outdoor areas, but what I did see was beautiful. The pool is just steps away from the lobby and looked amazing even in the rain. The highlight? Touring the Sky Terrace Rondoval Suites, which completely made my day.

After the room tours, we had a little break with appetizers and drinks in Dunn’s Rum Club, the onsite Rum Bar. We were welcomed with drinks in coconuts and wrapped up with a little dance party. The whole vibe was so fun and the space itself is unique to this resort.
Once we wrapped up for the day, I headed back to my room to catch up on some business tasks. It was still raining, but I did sneak outside briefly to visit the cat that had been hanging around outside my room.
Dinner was at The Southern Table, and let me just say this was my favorite meal of the entire trip. Absolutely delicious.

I ended the evening at the Polo Lounge Bar, hanging out with some fellow agents and recapping the day. Tomorrow is technically our day off and I was definitely looking forward to the break.
