Saludos Amigos Movie Night
Saludos Amigos is Disney’s 6th Animated Feature Film which came out in 1943. This starts the streak of back to back “package films” which basically means multiple short stories back to back to make one movie. These occurred during World World II when they didn’t have the resources for full-length animated films. Saludos Amigos is only 41 minutes long.
I’ve posted my favorites in the graphic above, if you’d like to create your own graphic, feel free to use this template!
I thought it would be fun to mimic “Live Tweeting” as a blog post while watching the movies, so enjoy my thoughts below.
7:28 PM I wonder how many Disney fans know this song. I didn’t realize how well I knew it until the title credits started rolling.
7:34 PM Poor Donald always finds himself in unfortunate situations.
7:40 PM Oh my gosh! I haven’t seen Pedro in so long! I forgot he was part of this movie!
7:47 PM Only Disney can make you feel emotionally attached to cartoon planes.
7:51 PM I wonder what the temperature was while this portion was filmed. The animators are in full suites.
7:52 PM I forgot Goofy had a role in this!
7:57 PM I was super puzzled why they were pretending that that was Goofy’s singing voice. Hilarious.
8:01 PM I bet most people don’t know Jose had a movie role before The Three Caballeros.
8:04 PM This is the segment I was remembering when I first sat down to re-watch this movie for the first time in 10 or so years!
8:10 PM The windows at Copacabana reminded me of Tiana’s Place windows from The Princess and the Frog.
